The Gwinnett Neighborhood Leadership
Institute has selected its class of 2012 candidates. GNLI recently
selected 30 rising leaders from Gwinnett County to participate in eight
months of training.
Participants
come from all walks of life representing many diverse backgrounds and
experiences, coming together with a common goal which to promote civic
change within Gwinnett County. GNLI is a program of the Gwinnett
Coalition for Health and Human Services and is funded through Gwinnett
County Board of Commissioners, the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department,
Jackson EMC, Walton EMC and other community sponsors such as the
Gwinnett Village Community Improvement District.
The
program is in its 17th year and is rapidly growing. During the
eight-month program, participants are trained through a series of
comprehensive workshops to address community issues and are required to
develop community improvement projects based on the representing needs.
